Samsung launches Galaxy C7 in China

NEW DELHI: Samsung has announced its mid-range smartphone Galaxy C7 in China. The launch comes close on the heels of the company announcing another Galaxy C-series smartphone, Galaxy C5 . The all-new Galaxy flaunts a metal unibody design and will be available in gold, silver, pink and grey colour options. The company has priced the 32GB version at $396 and the 64GB variant at $427.

As for specifications, the Samsung Galaxy C7 features a 5.6-inch Full HD display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz. It offers 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD.

The smartphone comes with hybrid dual-sim support and sports a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front snapper for video calling. The handset comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor and offers 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy C5 features a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone is available in two Internal storage options - 32GB and 64GB, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size.

Recently, the South Korean giant also partnered with Alibaba to compete with Apple Pay in China. However, both the companies are still to officially confirm the partnership. Samsung Pay has a major advantage over Apple Pay as it's compatible with commonly-found magnetic stripe card readers. While, Apple Pay requires retailers to install new NFC-based readers.
