This first one is precisely why teachers need to be more specific in their questioning. Here, a question is laid out that asks which child has more money. While the student answers correctly, when he’s asked to show his thinking, he draws a picture of him thinking.

In this one, a math student named Peter took a very clever meaning to the instructions, ‘Expand,’ when given a math problem.

Instead of solving it, he chose to gradually expand the equation further down the page. The joke did earn him a comment from the teacher, writing, ‘Very funny, Peter.’
